It’s A Sweater And Soup Day

Eggs in the Ramen

My building starts and stops the heat on certain days of the year regardless of what the weather is outside.

(We can’t control it either. If it gets too hot in the Winter we all just open our windows).

I have an indoor thermometer which is reading 70 degrees. It feels a bit cool.

The sweater and soup is how I warm myself up.

My dog Luna is on a prescription diet from the vet because she once had bladder stones.

She ran out of food this past weekend.

So while I stock up on her food, I look to what the food pantry gives me so we come out even this month.

Both the eggs and Ramen in the above picture came from the food pantry.

Last night I tried ground bison in my Hamburger Helper which also came from the food pantry.

While I was browning the meat on my stove, Luna really began to sniff the air. The bison was more pungent than regular ground beef. I googled on it and found out that bison is actually healthier for you too.

Hamburger Helper made with Bison.

So that was last nights dinner and it was truly delicious.

I am lucky in that I like most foods.

I spoil myself elsewhere like in having a decent wardrobe and a Papillon breed dog Luna.

So we are a happy family the two of us.

We are loved and respected in our building.

Really every one is most interested in petting the dog.

I am choosy in who I allow to pet her.

One other thing, my email pen pal of 12 years teaches me a little about cooking and he recommended dried onion flakes.

My pen pal is a very nurturing man who seems to have taken me under his wing. He is 20 years older and we did meet once in person for lunch. Now we live 750 miles from each other but are still in touch.

In a way this post has been about love.

Free food, a gift of love. My dogs love. Love from a friend.

This is how I make it as a single.

Now it’s raining out. Think I will watch the rain for awhile.

It’s a glorious day to be inside. 🌈 💕 ⭐️

  1. I enjoyed reading about this side of your life, and about your dog also. I have 4 senior pets, all with special needs, and love them very much. Thank you for sharing this with us.

  2. I’m choosy about who I let pet my pup, too. 😂 The food looks yummy, I’ve never tried Bison, but I had heard it is better for you. That’s really sweet that you’ve had an email pen pal for so long.💖

    1. It’s almost like we are married carrying on this conversation every day sometimes more than once a day. He knows where I’m going, what I’m eating. He knows about my dog. I know about his bird etc 😊 💕

      1. My husband was that way when we first met. We lived 4 hours apart. Eventually we stopped acting married and just got married.😂 That’s truly cute though.💖
